Lindholm Høje is an amazing site comprising settlement areas and cemetery.
The cemetery was in use for about 600 years – from c, AD 400 to C. AD 1000 and contains almost 700 graves. The earliest graves were inhumations, without a stone setting. The rest of the graves are cremations, where the body was cremated at the grave site. Most of the cremations are surrounded by stone settings: round, triangular and shipshaped.
There are two known areas of settlement at Lindholm Høje. These probably represent two phases of the same settlement, although they do not cover the whole period that the settlement was in use.
There is a small museum at the site which displays some of the finds and gives some dramatic reconstructions of the site.
